Quantum Healing Hypnosis: What to Expect Before, During and After a Session

If you are considering a Quantum Healing Hypnosis session, you may be wondering what actually happens.

Will I be completely unaware of what is happening? Will I see a past life? What if I don't see anything? What should I bring? And perhaps one of the most common questions I hear: What if I think I am making it all up?

These are very normal questions.

Quantum Healing Hypnosis is not about performing hypnosis correctly or trying to create a particular experience. It is a collaborative process. I guide you into hypnosis, ask questions and help you explore what arises, but the experience itself comes from you.

Some people experience vivid images. Others notice feelings, memories, physical sensations, words or simply a sense of knowing something. Some experiences feel spiritual or deeply meaningful, while others can be surprisingly ordinary.

There is no single way a Quantum Healing session is supposed to unfold.

What do I mean by Quantum Healing Hypnosis?

In my practice, Quantum Healing refers primarily to two approaches: Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT®) and Online Quantum Healing, which uses the flexible and intuitive Beyond Quantum Healing (BQH) approach.

QHHT® was developed by Dolores Cannon and is offered in person only. During hypnosis, we may explore past lives, other experiences or realms of consciousness and invite connection with what is often called the Higher-Self, Super Conscious or deeper consciousness.

Online Quantum Healing follows a similar spirit of exploration but offers more flexibility in how the session unfolds and can be experienced from your own home through a live online session.

Whichever approach you choose, I don't decide beforehand where you will go or what you should experience. We begin with your questions and intentions and follow what unfolds.

Before your Quantum Healing Session

Preparation is less complicated than many people imagine.

You don't need to meditate for hours, reach a particular state of consciousness or convince yourself that something extraordinary is going to happen. What matters more is arriving curious, comfortable and willing to participate.

Think about what you want to explore

Before your session, take some time to think about what brought you here.

Perhaps you have questions about relationships, recurring patterns, your direction in life, spirituality, experiences you haven't been able to explain, or simply a feeling that there is something more you would like to understand.

For a Quantum Healing session (QHHT or BQH), I ask you to prepare up to 15 questions. You certainly don't need 15. A few questions that genuinely matter to you can be more valuable than a long list created simply because you think you should have one.

We will go through your questions together before hypnosis begins.

What should you bring?

For an in-person session, there really isn't much you need to bring.

Email me your list of questions and bring with you anything you personally need to be comfortable during a longer session. You may also want to bring an eye mask and a light snack for afterwards.

More important than bringing the right things is arriving without feeling rushed. Give yourself enough time to get here, settle in and be present for the experience.

For an online session, email me your list of questions and instead of packing a bag, you'll want to prepare your space. Choose somewhere private and comfortable where you won't be interrupted by people or pets. Have water and a blanket nearby. And make sure you have your headphones with a microphone.

Practice using your imagination

I encourage clients to spend a little time before their appointment imagining a familiar or peaceful place.

Notice the colours. What can you hear? Is there a smell? What does the air feel like? Are there people or animals around you?

This isn't a test of how well you visualize. It simply gives you some practice noticing and describing your inner experience without immediately analysing it.

And if you don't naturally see clear pictures in your mind, that's okay. Not everyone experiences hypnosis visually.

Take care of the practical things

Wear comfortable clothing and eat beforehand. Quantum Healing sessions are long and unhurried, so physical comfort matters.

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your session and limit caffeine for a few hours beforehand. If you take prescribed medication, continue taking it as directed by your healthcare provider.

If your session is online, prepare a private, quiet space where you will not be interrupted. You will also need a reliable internet connection, a camera positioned so I can see you while you are reclining, and headphones with a microphone so we can hear each other clearly.

What happens during the session?

A first Quantum Healing session typically lasts 4-6 hours. That sometimes surprises people, but only part of that time is spent in hypnosis. I intentionally don't rush these sessions.

We Start with a Conversation

At first, we spend time getting to know each other. We'll talk about what has brought you to the session, significant experiences in your life, relationships, patterns you have noticed and the questions you would like to explore.

This conversation usually lasts between one and two hours.

It is not simply an intake form done verbally. It gives me context for your questions, but it also gives you time to settle in, become comfortable with me and understand how we will work together. There is time to ask questions too.

Then we move into hpnosis

When we are ready, I guide you gradually into a comfortable state and shift your focus inward.

Hypnosis isn't sleep.

You will keep hearing my voice and know that you are in the room with me. You can speak, move, and even ask for a pause to use the washroom, or stop at any time. Many people are surprised by how normal hypnosis can feel.

From there, we begin exploring.

You might experience what feels like a past life. You might find yourself somewhere completely unfamiliar. You may experience memories, symbolic scenes, emotions, sensations or impressions. At times, an experience may feel more like imagination or a dream.

You don't have to decide during the session exactly what it is.

I often tell clients that you don't need to believe in past lives to explore what arises. You can think of it as a past life, a story, imagination, a metaphor or something else entirely. What interests me is what the experience may show you and whether it has meaning for your life now.

What if I don't see anything?

This is one of the concerns I hear most often.

People sometimes expect hypnosis to be like watching a film playing behind their closed eyes. For some people it can be vivid, but that is certainly not everyone's experience.

You may feel something before you see it.

You may hear a word.

You may suddenly know something without knowing why.

A memory may surface.

You may notice a physical sensation or emotion.

Or an answer may simply appear in your mind.

The important thing is not to judge each impression as it arrives. Tell me what you are noticing, even if it seems insignificant. We explore it together.

Connecting with the Higher-Self

As the session develops, we will invite communication with what I refer to as the Higher-Self.

Different people use different language for this: Higher-Self, Super Conscious, deeper consciousness, soul, inner wisdom or intuition.

For some clients, this feels like a very distinct presence or voice. For others, there is no dramatic separation at all. The answers may simply feel as though they are coming from a quieter, wiser part of themselves.

Again, there is no correct experience.

This part of the session gives us an opportunity to explore the questions you prepared beforehand and anything important that has emerged during the session.

What happens after hypnosis?

I gradually guide you back to your normal waking awareness, and then we talk.

Some people remember almost everything. Others remember certain parts very clearly and other parts less so.

We take approximately 30 to 60 minutes to discuss what happened, what stood out to you and anything you would like to talk through before you leave or end the online session.

The hypnosis portion is recorded, with your consent, so you can listen to it again afterward.

The session may end, but the experience doesn't always end there

I think the period after a Quantum Healing session deserves as much respect as the preparation beforehand.

Sometimes the significance of an experience is immediately obvious. Sometimes it isn't.

A detail that seemed unimportant during hypnosis may suddenly make sense several days later. You may notice a familiar situation differently, recognize a pattern more clearly or find yourself thinking about something from the session from a completely new perspective.

And sometimes the shift is much quieter than that.

This is one reason I encourage you not to rush to decide whether your session was "successful."

Give it some space.

Rest if you need to. Drink water. Write down anything you don't want to forget. Return to the grounding practices that normally work for you.

When you receive your recording, listen when you can give it your full attention, never while driving or doing anything that requires concentration. You may notice things in the recording that you don't remember hearing or saying during the session.

What will your session be like?

I can't tell you.

And that is part of what makes this work so fascinating to me.

After guiding hundreds of people through hypnosis, regression and Quantum Healing, I have learned not to assume where someone's experience will lead.

Some sessions are vivid and expansive. Some are emotional. Some are quiet and reflective. Sometimes what seems small during the session becomes important later.

You don't need to arrive believing everything.

You don't need to have a particular spiritual worldview.

And you don't need to force yourself to "let go" or make something happen.

Come with your questions, your curiosity and a willingness to explore. We'll begin there.
